Today we had our Robotics Club Kickoff which introduced concepts and revealed future plans to the new members.
The evening began with a few words from Mr. Koehler and our president, Eric Smalls, explaining the basis of the Robotics Club and what it is about.
Afterwards, Pinkesh, Scott, and Patrick, from the Naval Base, gave informative speeches that covered topics such as the vitality of pursuing STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) careers, what an engineer’s work day is like, and how the Naval Base’s involvement with our own Robotics Club.
Veteran members Antonio Williams and Andrew Russell gave a presentation titled “Mobile Robots” in which they explained the general purpose of a robot and the ways it move.
Last Thoughts:
- Our next meeting will be 10/17/11
- New and dedicated members are always welcomed.
- We are all very excited this year for we have much to accomplish.
