Stand out from the crowd, get CAD certification!

HSES is now an Authorized Testing Center for Autodesk User Certification testing. If you have some experience with Autodesk Inventor(3D CAD) from previous engineering courses, below are resources for practice certification test training and practice certification test. When you are ready, I will provide you with further instructions to take the official $70 Autodesk User Certification test, pre-paid for by the school district.  This is the same CAD software used for design modeling at the NAVSEA engineering labs. You are welcome to use the lab in Room 144 until you graduate to prep for the certification test. My thanks to senior Tony Williams, who has run through the practice test training, he may also be able to answer questions about this.  I have a prize for the first student to get certified.  How to get ready for certification:
  1. Take HSES's Intro to Engineering Design class for freshman which includes an introduction to Autodesk Inventor 3-D CAD
  2. Refresh you CAD skills by watching some Autodesk's Inventor YouTube videos: http://www.youtube.com/course?list=EC537B7ADE39546474
  3. For the practice certification test and training to work, create an account on http://www.gmetrix.net then download and install Gmetrix software as instructed or use the Room 144 desktops
  4. Testing code: Gmetrix's Autodesk practice certification test & training code for HSES - see Mr. Koehler
  5. More info on the certification test: http://www.certiport.com/Portal/Common/DocumentLibrary/Autodesk_FAQs.pdf
