Two $3,500 Scholarships Available for TSA Students in 2014
Encourage your promising students to read about and apply for one of two TSA-sponsored scholarships: the William P. Elrod Memorial Scholarship and the "new" Future STEM Teacher Scholarship (formerly TSA Teach Technology Scholarship). This year, each scholarship award is for $3,500
-- the same amount as last year for the Elrod Scholarship, and a
seven-fold increase for the Future STEM Teacher Scholarship - from $500 to $3,500.
The
Elrod scholarship is awarded each year to a TSA student for outstanding
service and leadership, and a promising academic future in the
STEM/technology field. The Future STEM Teacher Scholarship is awarded to
a TSA student with a strong history of service to TSA who is pursuing a
teaching career in K-12 STEM/technology education.
Applicants
must have a 3.0 GPA or better; can be college, university, or
career/technical school-bound; OR be a TSA alumnus enrolled in an
undergraduate program or in a career/technical school. All must
demonstrate a financial need. The application deadline is Friday, May 9, 2014. Information and forms are available at www.tsaweb.org/Student-Scholarships.
