Monday April 28th, 2014 STEM Dean's Luncheon
The Luncheon will be held
in the auditorium on the second floor Portal D at The School District
of Philadelphia Education Center (440 North Broad Street Philadelphia,
PA 19130) from 11am to 2pm.
We would like for you and your
student to sit on a panel for the questions and answers segment of the
luncheon. An audience of 10th through 12th grade students, from select
schools, will attend with the purposes of getting more students
interested in STEM, and also afford them the opportunity to hear from
the panel concerning:
•The importance of student achievement in STEM disciplines while in high school
•The STEM offerings and program expectations at their colleges
•Any recommendations and advice in preparation for post-secondary efforts
It
is our hope that you would be able to attend, and help us promote
post-secondary STEM education. We are really excited about this
opportunity for our students. In the event that you are unable to
attend, we would greatly appreciate it if a representative was sent on
behalf of your College or University. We would like for them to be able
to speak on your university’s current and prospective research,
admission requirements, curriculum, student organizations, and
opportunities for high school students.
