The program will be 5 weeks long, starting on July 21st and ending on
August 22nd, and will include several weeks of classroom instruction,
followed by 2 weeks of project-base learning where students will be able
to practice and hone the skills they’ve learned. There will be a hiring
fair in the beginning of September where PhillyDevCamp students will
get to meet with and show off their work to local businesses.
The camp is put on by Zivtech has been designing and building innovative websites, web
applications and web infrastructure using best-of-breed Open Source
Software in Philadelphia for the past 6 years. We provide training to an
international client base including top universities, government
bodies, and Fortune 500 companies to empower their technology teams to
more effectively leverage these powerful technologies. Additionally, we
train our own staff in the latest tools and best practices to keep our
knowledgebase as current as possible.
Neomind Labs has been
developing custom software in Philadelphia for 12 years and began using
in Ruby on Rails in 2007. We taught our first Ruby on Rails class in
2013 and have been developing a curriculum to expand that program. Our
lead teacher, John Parsons, has experience teaching web development to
both undergraduate and graduate students.
