Another note from FTC organizers  Thomas Zawislak and Dave Hackett:
Hi to all of our Teams and Volunteers,
Hello to our Philadelphia Area FTC League Teams and Volunteers.  I hope you are all as ready for this weekend’s final Meet and Championship. As you are aware we will be at Central High School again this year. Thank you to the RoboLancers FTC and FRC teams for hosting this tournament under the able leadership of Michael Johnson. We also thank our sponsors the Philadelphia School District, Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania for their support this season and for this tournament.
We currently have 17 teams scheduled who we know will be ready to rock! This will be a single division event played out on two (2) competition fields. We will be advancing three (3) teams forward to our PA State Championship which will be held Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at Millersville University. These teams will join the 23 that have already earned advancement to the 36 team championship. Please review FTC Manual 1 for Advancement Criteria. The three teams to advance will be:
  1. Inspire Award Winner
  2. Captain of the Winning Alliance
  3. Inspire Award Second Place
If there is a team that wins the award AND is also the winning alliance captain or has already advanced to the PA State Championship then we will continue to move down the Advancement list until three deserving teams are selected.
For the field competition, we will be carrying over the results of the top 8 qualifier scores for each team from Meets 1 through 4 and including the 5 qualifier rounds from this Saturday’s event to determine the team final team rankings in the field competition phase.  The top 4 ranked teams at the end of the day will then be able to choose their Alliance partner (1) for the 2 semifinal rounds. The winning Alliances from the Semi-finals will play each other in the Final matches to determine our League Champion.
