Hey FTC Teams!
We are very excited to announce our new technology platform, we are transitioning from our Samantha module and NXT to a brand new Android-based technology! The new platform, which consists of handheld devices, will be powered by Snapdragon 410 processors from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. We are eager to utilize the most innovative and advanced technologies in ourFIRST Tech Challenge program, and we think you're going to be excited about it too! Click here for our official press release!
We know you will have questions about the upcoming transition, so we created a FIRST Tech Challenge New Android-Based Technology Q&A Document.
We are also working on an exciting new video blog series to help our FTC community better visualize the transition. Be sure to check the FTC Blog at 4pm ET to see Ken Johnson, Director ofFIRST Tech Challenge, introduce the new Android-based platform! Tune in each week to catch the latest epidsode of this video blog series.
We also want to know what you want to know, so we've created an FTC forum to answer questions about the new platform.
This new transition provides us the opportunity to advance the FIRST Tech Challenge program, and gives you access to the latest and greatest technology. We can't wait for you to experience the benefits that moving towards a new android-based technology will bring! More to come.
