Middle and high school summer engineering opportunites at Univ. of Penn.



GEMS (Girls in Engineering Math and Science): GEMS is a week long program for 6th, 7th and 8th grade female students in July.  GEMS includes a robotics program and a general STEM program.  Applications are due April 3rd.  Tuition required, scholarships are available. 

SMP (Summer Mentorship Program): SMP is a 4 week long robotics course for 9th and 10th graders (rising 10th and 11th graders) in Philadelphia public schools.  SMP includes nursing, medicine, law, dental, and robotics schools.  This is a free program.  Applications are due April 10th.

High School Internships: We have limited space for high school students to participate in summer internships.  These are not set programs.  Sometimes we only have opportunities for a student for one day and sometime only for one month.  Information about how to apply can be found here.  We only accept applications from 11th grade students (rising 12th graders).
